Trustpilot reviews

Trustpilot review? Find out if you have a reason to report it.

We find the reporting reason that fits your Trustpilot review, prepare the evidence and, once you approve, report it through Trustpilot’s official form. A negative tone, a dispute or a nickname is not a reason on its own, and we tell you straight away if that is all there is. Trustpilot makes the final decision.

Free and without obligation.

How Trustpilot reporting works

Choose the closest reason

Trustpilot accepts five reasons: harmful or illegal content, personal information, advertising, no genuine experience, or a different business. You pick one when you flag a review, so it has to be the right one. Trustpilot treats flagging too quickly or for the wrong reasons as misuse.

Why careful reporting protects you

Continued misuse can lead to restrictions on your account and a Consumer Warning on your profile, which also hides your TrustScore. A measured report protects your standing as well as your rating.

When Trustpilot asks for more

If you doubt the experience, Trustpilot’s own process lets you ask for details first, and the reviewer has three days to respond. If you disagree with the outcome, you can reply to the decision email with your reasons and then appeal through the link in it. We keep all of it in one record.

Evidence worth collecting

  • The review link and a dated screenshot
  • The reason you think applies, and the wording that supports it
  • Records for the right branch and dates, if you doubt the experience
  • Facts that show another company is meant, if the review seems misdirected
  • Trustpilot’s decision email, if you already have one

What you can rely on

  • We make one promise: a careful report with the right reason, which you approve first.
  • Each review gets its own report with the one reason that fits, which protects your standing on Trustpilot.
  • We keep opinion and defamation apart. Trustpilot means a false statement of fact causing significant financial loss, and for that we point you to a lawyer.
  • We work only with your records and Trustpilot’s own tools, and we leave reviewers alone.

Common questions

Can a business report a review just because it disagrees with it?

No. The report has to match a reason in Trustpilot’s current guidelines, and disagreement on its own is not one of them.

Does the review disappear during the investigation?

Usually not. Most reviews stay visible while Trustpilot investigates. Those flagged as harmful or illegal are hidden.

What if the reviewer used a username?

That is allowed. Reviewers need no invitation or purchase and may use a username, so not recognising a name is not enough on its own.
